What is Alpha-Stim?
Alpha-Stim is a clinically proven medical device that relieves anxiety, insomnia, and depression using electromedical technology. Unlike medications which are introduced to your body in a chemical form and then broken down to smaller components such as electrons, Alpha- Stim begins at the electron level by generating a unique patented waveform that allows your body’s cells to return to their natural functioning state. Alpha-Stim provides long lasting, cumulative relief without the risk of negative effects such as tolerance and addiction to medications.
How do I know it's right for me?
Prior to trying the Alpha-Stim you will need a private consultation to be arranged at Joyce Family Medicine. Plan on being at your initial consultation for 30-60 minutes as we take this time to get to know your individual needs and treatment goals. Dr. Joyce and Donna Sheahan strive to offer patient centered care, creating a unique treatment plan for each individual.

Your Alpha-Stim consultation will begin with an in-depth medical history, a review of your medications, and brief physical exam. The providers will discuss your desires for both short term and long term improvements. This visit will establish a medical record with Joyce Family Medicine, meaning as with any other family physician, co-pays, co-insurance, and/or deductibles may apply. If time and medical indications permit, for a small fee the Alpha-Stim can be tried in office as a trial run. How do I use the Alpha-Stim?
The Alpha-Stim's current is applied with easy to use clips that attach on the ear lobes for at least twenty minutes, 2-3 times a week, or on as needed basis. Alpha-Stim can help induce a pleasant, relaxed feeling of well-being. While the Alpha-Stim is significantly effective when used correctly, it does not work for everyone, which is why we recommend a trial run before purchasing.
Is the Alpha-Stim safe?
The Alpha-Stim is cleared by the FDA for marketing by or on order of a licensed healthcare professional. There are over 100 research studies as well as ongoing research all supporting the safety and efficacy of Alpha-Stim. Only minor, self-limiting side effects have been reported with the two most common being a headache or skin reaction at the electrode site.
